A 14-day fixed group departure that covers China's greatest icons: the Forbidden City and Mutianyu Great Wall in Beijing, Chengdu's giant pandas, Chongqing's vertical cityscape, the sandstone pillars and glass bridge of Zhangjiajie, Guilin's karst landscapes and the skyline of Shanghai. Travel is by two internal flights, two high-speed bullet trains and air-conditioned coach, with a Shree Voyages tour manager throughout. Lunch and dinner are freshly cooked by a travelling Rajasthani Maharaj, with Jain food available.
On arrival at Beijing airport you are greeted by the Tour Manager and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay in Beijing.
Visit Tiananmen Square, one of the world's largest public squares, and the magnificent Forbidden City, former residence of Chinese emperors. Later explore the Summer Palace and its gardens (boat cruise excluded) and the historic Temple of Heaven. Overnight in Beijing.
Drive to the Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall of China and enjoy a round-trip cable car ride with views over the surrounding mountains. Visit a Jade Factory and finish with a photo stop at the Olympic Stadium (Bird's Nest). Overnight in Beijing.
Fly to Chengdu and meet the local representative. Visit the lively Kuanzhai Alley, enjoy the Sichuan Opera Mask Change Show and take a photo stop at the illuminated Twin Towers. Overnight in Chengdu.
Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to see giant pandas in a natural-style habitat, then enjoy a traditional Chinese tea experience at Renmin Park. Drive to Chongqing and check in. Overnight in Chongqing.
Explore Ciqikou Old Town, watch the train pass through a residential building at Liziba Metro Station, and visit Kuixing Plaza and the hillside Hongyadong complex. End the day with a cable car ride across the Yangtze River. Overnight in Chongqing.
Board the high-speed train to Zhangjiajie. Visit Tianmen Mountain with its dramatic cliffs and views, enjoy the outdoor Tianmen Fox Fairy Show and take a photo stop at the illuminated 72 Qilou Complex. Overnight in Zhangjiajie.
Walk the Glass Bridge at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, then explore Tianzi Mountain and Yuanjiajie in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, whose sandstone pillars inspired the floating mountains of Avatar. Ascend by the Bailong Elevator and descend by cable car. Overnight in Zhangjiajie.
Take an early-morning high-speed train to Guilin. Visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the natural rock formation resembling an elephant drinking from the Li River. Overnight in Guilin.
Visit the colourfully lit limestone formations of Reed Flute Cave, then enjoy a scenic cruise in Yangshuo among karst mountains and countryside. Stroll the lively Yangshuo West Street. Overnight in Guilin.
Morning flight to Shanghai. Visit the iconic Bund with views of the historic waterfront and modern skyline, walk the lively Nanjing Road and end with a Huangpu River cruise under the city lights. Overnight in Shanghai.
Visit People's Square, the Jade Buddha Temple, the bustling Yu Market and a Silk Factory. Ascend to the 118th-floor observation deck of Shanghai Tower and take a round-trip ride on the high-speed Shanghai Maglev Train. Overnight in Shanghai.
Visit the ancient canal town of Zhujiajiao with its traditional bridges and riverside houses, and enjoy a boat ride through its waterways. Later visit AP Plaza with time for shopping. Overnight in Shanghai.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight home, marking the end of a memorable journey with Shree Voyages.
